We are an established Educational Provider.

Where Woolly Matters is unique is that we are established as an Educational Provider, working to the National Curriculum, with all our staff holding enhanced CRB, unlike the many craft industry based providers. This ensures you of a child-centered, educational experience to complement and enhance your curriculum.

During the summer months, children will:-

• Be able to observe first hand how the sheep are sheared and how the wool is then cleaned and sorted; (click to see photos of shearing)
• Examine and learn about the texture and structure of the wool and how it serves the sheep.

In addition, children can experience carding, felting, spinning, rug making and weaving. These activities can take place all year round.

Learning Outcomes

Rather than simply list a set of learning outcomes, we at Woolly Matters prefer to work with the teachers and design the demonstration and any activities around the educational needs of the children and the staff.

Cost

Cost is always dependent on the number of demonstrations required: however, we will always work with the school in order to provide value for money. Perhaps your school would be interested in sharing a demonstration with another small school in your area.
